Hey everyone. I'm going to make a return and request my sysop tools back again. It was very immature of me to have left (second time no doubt), but it was fueled on wrong intentions and for this I am truly sorry. This community does mean a lot to me and the actions of a few should not impact or represent the rest and I'm afraid I did let this happen. I've been informed by some that others feel like I'm a traitor to the wiki. I'm very hurt by this and I do not agree so I'm sorry if I've ever made you feel this way.

We are all children who learn everyday and sometime it takes a few mistakes before the child will learn. I think I've made my mistakes now and have finally gotten the lesson I've needed. A little break works wonders, it's just unfortunate I took mine with the circumstances I did.

Community has changed since I began, and I think I'm a little resilient to it, but it's a fact that I must accept and make the better of. It's important for me to understand that as a community run wiki, I must come to accept the community as a whole and it's differences and diversity, and I think at that time I had forgotten this.

My relinquishing of my sysop tools represented my inability to support the community in a way I felt I should have or could have and it was at this time I was allowing my personal feelings reflect actions on the community, so I'm sorry. I will make my last and final plee for your acceptance in this apology letter and I hope I will receive a welcome back into the community.

To Calebchiam: Sorry for my actions and choice words. You are a very gifted contributor to the wiki, and although we have our difference, I must accept your input freely. I ask that you give me no less respect then you have in the past as I continue to offer you mine. Your a very conservative person and I must accept that although our methods may not be par together our intentions remain for the benefit of the wiki.

I'm under the understanding that sysops relinquishing their rights under good terms are entitled to request them again without a RfA, so please accept this request for the tools to be returned.

Comment - Not sure this is the appropriate place for this, but I'll roll with it anyways. I added a discussion section, because everything on the forums should have one. HaloTalk 01:03, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

This is the appropriate place to address the community. 01:04, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - Whether or not you left under "good terms" is debatable. If I recall correctly, it involved you applying RS:BB to unblock Btz, despite the fact that both Azaz and Caleb asked you to stop, effectively overruling multiple community consensuses. From your comments on Azaz's talk, you seemed happy to leave. If you want your sysop tools back, you should do another RfA. --LiquidTalk 01:09, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - I agree with liquid not sure it was good terms either here only giving up for tools when your tools were just about to be taken away regardless. Besides, your last main space edit [1] was Febuary 23rd and you haven't shown the need for the tools back. My suggestion be active and then do another RFA I'll be glad for you to become an admin again.Dragon helm.png Team6and7 Talk Dragon boots.png 01:24, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

That's because he just got unblocked. It helps to understand the history behind an issue before judging on it, lol. HaloTalk 01:28, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
The tools arn't important. It's you guys. I want you guys back into my life on the game and in here and it's very upsetting to not have that community that I've grown so much to love. I want you guys back. 01:30, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
I no where saw him being blocked showing up any where. Regarldless I do welcome you back and have struck out my vote being that he has withdrawn his re sysop request. Dragon helm.png Team6and7 Talk Dragon boots.png 02:14, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
I can't read, excuse me (or type apparently) =D HaloTalk 03:32, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Welcome Back - I think this is a little more realistic without the requesting of sysop back. I'm not sure there's a point now. But in any case, welcome back! HaloTalk 01:41, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry Murphy.

Oppose Under good terms is the tricky bit here. Had you not left , it was extremely likely there would have been an "Unsysop Bonzi" thread, you leaving before that happened can not be used as a way to avoid the repercussions of your actions. Speaking to your actions directly, it was extremely unsettling to see them. All you needed to do was propose Killer get unbanned and then wait 10 days. But you were specifically told not to, because it went against the prevailing community consensus. Then more disturbingly you used some analogys that were incredibly over dramatic and off the mark as well.

You also entirely miss understanding what our role as sysops is. Here I will quote a statement of yours to Azaz and his thoughts on the subject, they are very relevant and Azaz129 sums things up better than I do.

In an RfA I was selected by the community to make choices for the betterment of the community based on my judgment
You were selected to protect the community, not overrule it, we are all equal.
Morally is it the right thing to do?
It is neither my place nor yours to decide what is moral, Btz's behavior earned his block, he was not forced to act as he did.
If consensus is to have him remain banned, I will accept his ban.
I doubt you will, you've demonstrated a chilling superiority complex as well as a persecution complex. I doubt your intentions quite sincerely now.
I will unblock him again unless two things happen
You threaten to get what you what? Is this really how you believe the 'choice-maker of the community' should behave?

On top of this you have pretty much declared your interest is not to be part of this community but elsewhere instead. I do not think it is wrong of you to move on to a group that you like more or fit into better, we spend our lives moving along group to group circle to circle trying to find people we are comfortable with. If this were to pass or not, how long would you be here? A day? Two weeks? Bonz, your heart is not here, and you know it.--Degenret01 01:45, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to prove you wrong. 01:47, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose return of admin tools—It's unclear to me that you did you leave on good terms. I believe your intent was viewed by some to be not in the best interest of our community and an abuse of the admin tools. I am glad to see you return but have concerns about your actions. Horsehead Talk 01:56, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

He already withdrew the request to have sysop back. HaloTalk 01:57, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Though... the CC claims it's because Christine and Chaos shamed him into it. --LiquidTalk 02:05, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, but the point is that he isn't asking for it anymore. HaloTalk 02:08, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Support return of admin tools and welcome back - I don't care what others say, and I don't care if I get attacked for this. You're my friend and we're in it together until the end. My opinion is that if you're here apologizing then we should forgive you, not dwell on the past. Even if the request for sysop tools is now crossed out, I still support it. Andrew talk 02:42, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Hopefully, even if we have diverse opinions, we can avoid attacking each other over this (or anything). It's not worth fighting over who broke the eggs. Respecting each other will get us a lot farther than any arguing or fuming ever will. And while we should not dwell on the past, we should remember it, to be able to make better choices for the future. I'm all about the second chances, God knows I've had more than my fair share of those (and third...and fourth...and so on.) I'm not quite sure what to think about this, but I still can understand and respect both sides of this discussion. HaloTalk 02:53, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I guess I should comment. Welcome back Bonzi. I'm glad he's back. He wrote this apology, because he knew he needed to. And then he entered the cc and received blatant criticism for an hour, mostly about "action speaks louder than words". That's true, but some people haven't given him time to make any action this time round. He couldn't just come back, and start editing and take part in community discussions again. I'm sure many users would write on his talk page asking what the hell is going on. He has in the past shown he can be dedicated to this wiki, and just because of a few incidents, some people have 0 respect for him now. I find it a bit sad and disappointing. I find that spectacle in the cc earlier extremely sad and disappointing. That shouldn't have even happened in that public cc. Do you think other fansites do that? Anyway, I hope Bonzi decides to stay. If he leaves, so be it; that's his decision and you can't criticise him for that. About admin tools, although I support him receiving them again, I think it'd be better if he ran another RfA. Chicken7 >talk 03:01, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

I am more than happy to nominate him through the RfA process if necessary. Andrew talk 03:24, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
I think opening an RfA is the way to go. A lot of people have reservations about it, and I believe that would go over a lot better. But as Bonzi stated it's not about sysop, you may want to ask him first. HaloTalk 03:27, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks everyone. As I look back on my actions, I'm deeply very upset with them. It 100% reflects immaturity on my part and I'm disgusted by them. I do feel my thoughts behind the actions were correct, but the actions I took to get them thoughts were absolutely wrong (being I supported BTZ's unban, but my method sucked). As such, I don't expect the community to ever give me the respect or support they ever had once. I look back and reflect. I'm the one, me, who has the most support ever on any RfA and I've let you all down...imagine the weight on my shoulders I am feeling. I don't expect remorse, just understanding that I truly am 100% sorry. As for the tools, I don't want them, ever again. I can offer my knowledge and community involvement without them. I have a feeling me ever getting the tools back here will only stir up questions, arguments on the RfA, and will bring up some unwanted reminders of the past for many, which I don't want. Take this message and quote it. I don't want these tools again. That said, I have had them at one time and still fully understand my obligations to the community. I can still offer support to the best of my abilities to those who ask. 03:27, March 31, 2010 (UTC)
To add. I'm heavily involved in a bunch of others things in the RuneScape community (other fansites, clan chats, events, etc.) so as much as I'd love to sit in the wiki's cc all the time, I can't all the time. Please understand this. I'm not a traitor (some have called me that). I'm just trying to do the most I can for the community. 03:55, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Having looked back through the history, I believe I have done my best to discover what happened. Frankly, I find it worrying. Bonzi, you were willing to throw aside a basic principle of the wiki — concensus. Although I understand your thinking, and I know you truly thought what you were doing was the right thing, I disagree with how you tried to override a community decision. Part of our concensus system is accepting that not everyone agrees with us, and even if we are absolutely certain of what is the right decision, if the community decides otherwise, we must accept that.

However, you seem to have learned from this, and I am ready to accept you back into the community — without your sysop tools. Welcome back, Bonzi. We missed you. I'm a regular user and I approve this message.  TLUL Talk - Contribs 04:53, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - What's done is done, and while I certainly disapprove of your actions two week ago, you are willing to apologise, so good on you. I shall not comment too much about whether you should be resysopped, but I will admit that I have deep reservations regarding it. Nevertheless, I am of course willing to forgive, and welcome back to the community. C.ChiamTalk 12:31, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Nah, it's all good. I don't want the tools back anyways ^.^ They are not what is really important. 13:38, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Welcome back - Everyone can make mistakes. The important thing is to learn from them and apologize. I know that you are a good editor, and I'm sure it won't happen again. Welcome back! bad_fetustalk 18:48, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Nice to see you I accept your apology, but to be frank i don't think you should have your powers back. You do deserve them back but to me that kind of power is too much responsibility, hence why i prefer not to be an admin. Anyway welcome back and like the song in a sonic game "live and learn"--Turok Obama 21:19, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

Welcome back - You're one of our most valuable members, and it's good to see you back. From what I've read, you've received much criticism over your actions. Don't worry about it too much; once you've proved yourself, I'm sure they'll regret it and gladly accept you as part of the community again.  Tien  21:38, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

WB If you're not asking for any particular privileges (e.g. admin tools) then it seems to me you're just becoming more active again as an editor. Since anyone can edit (and you're not blocked), I'm not sure much comment is needed. Anyone is free to become active or inactive at any time with no explanation necessary. As for being a "traitor to the wiki", I don't understand that. Everyone who contributes here is doing so through their own volition, and does so for free. We don't owe anything to anyone, and we're not a clan. On a personal note, I wonder whether this project has become too community-oriented, to the extent that personal differences (politics and religion being prime culprits) are distracting people from the one thing we all have in common - a desire to make this wiki the best source of RuneScape information it can be. If we all concentrated on that, a lot of the bullshit that arises around here (including the clan chat) would never be an issue. But it will be good to see you active again around here. :-) Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 22:28, March 31, 2010 (UTC)

I slightly agree, but slightly disagree. We do need a lot less drama and crap, as we lose a lot of editors and a lot of respect for them. Although, we need to focus A LOT on the community, as that is just as important as the content, I'd say. If the wiki was closed down, which would you miss most: the information, or the community? Anyway, I understand you aren't proposing anything, just my 2c Lol Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 02:33, April 1, 2010 (UTC)
