I don't think this applies to this wiki yet as I haven't seen it offered, but I'm just going to give you a heads up. I was contacted by Sannse on the Stellar Dawn Wiki with an invite to make that Wiki ads free (I'm a crat there). I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon, so should I just ask Sannse if I can offer the invitation to the RuneScape Wiki, or should we just apply?

I don't think so now that I look back and read it...we are over 20k views...put this is a possible first step to addressing those ads... 17:14, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - User:Stelercus already brought this up, but then withdrew it immediately. I will provide my original comment here :). The RuneScape Wiki has around 850,000 page views per month, which is slightly above the current limit of 20,000 that Wikia has for making a wiki ad-free. Now, considering that Wikia charges $20 US for a wiki with 20,000, I calculate the approximate cost for us to be ad free at $850 US, per month. That equates to $10,200 per year to be ad free. I'm sorry to say that this isn't a very realistic goal for us, considering it would take a second job to make this money. Add to the equation the fact that Wikia isn't allowing wikis with more than 20,000 pageviews per month to go ad free, and we get an unfortunately impossible result. Sorry for my geeky math references ;) ajr 17:14, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Lol, I know that. The wiki makes a lot off of ad revenue...but just pointing it's free are coming... 17:16, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Don't get my wrong, I love the idea. However, it won't be me paying the 10 grand a year for this to happen ;) ajr 17:18, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Closed - I'm a dunce...
