I am proposing an adjustment to RS:QSG#Chathead. The guideline currently states that the initial chathead should be placed before the first section header of the guide:

[[File:Example chathead.png|left]]
===Example in trouble===

This, however, causes this header to be indented as well. I have rarely seen left-aligned images placed before section headers, and also do not see why the guideline is specific to the first paragraph of the guide.

I propose to change this guideline to the opposite: placing the chathead immediately after the header:

===Example in trouble===
[[File:Example chathead.png|left]]

Examples: Before and after (the latter is ironically the example from the guidelines).

Oppose - I like the indented heading. Sets the paragraph apart from the others, so to speak. This is all purely aesthetics of course, and, well, I prefer chathead-before-heading. :/ User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 18:25, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

You prefer a lot of other bad practices too. MolMan 22:01, March 29, 2015 (UTC)
It's a bad practice in your opinion - as I said, I think it looks fine. Cook's argument has merit though, might be a good reason to change policy. User_talk:Fswe1 Fswe1 Brassica Prime symbol.png 06:58, March 30, 2015 (UTC)
No, it is objectively bad practice. Many standards have been laid out for web design. MolMan 12:03, March 30, 2015 (UTC)

Support - Section headers should be left-aligned. The thing that sets them apart is the font, the same as if the chathead weren't there. Putting {{Clear|left}} after the image is another option. Whatever makes the most sense in the context and flow of the article. --Saftzie (talk) 20:48, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

That would be a chathead with a ridiculous amount of whitespace, even worse, nty. MolMan 22:01, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

Support - Indented headings are bad and have bad side effects on smaller screens. ʞooɔ 21:57, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

Oppose - putting the chathead before the heading, which would mean I support this proposal. MolMan 22:01, March 29, 2015 (UTC)

Support - per above reasons. --Shockstorm (talk) 22:04, March 29, 2015 (UTC)
