Every NPC and item has a default "action" associated with it. For NPCs, it's "talk to" (with or without a hyphen in between) or "trade" and for items, it's "use" and "drop"/"destroy". I propose that we start adding these parameters to these pages, much like we do with scenery. I see no reason why we shouldn't have this information on the wiki. We're an encyclopedia, and a proper encyclopedia would have all information available. Most of this is already in the cache, and it shouldn't be too hard to figure out the others. It would even be perfect for an OSWF task: quick and simple, and gets people used to editing. And if people really don't like it, it could be a hidden parameter (though I don't think it should).

Proposal 1: Add an actions parameter to both infoboxes

Proposal 2: Add an actions parameter to both infoboxes, but only have it be visible if something other than the default

Proposal 3: Change nothing

Discussion

Support 1 - as nominator. I think it's useful to include them even when they have no special action, at least for NPCs. Sometimes it's "talk to" and sometimes it's "talk-to". We should have an archive of both instances. ɳex undique 18:00, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Strong Support 1 - There's a lot of variety in the special actions, even beyond Talk to, Bank with, Harvest, etc. I would also recommend considering adding it as optional/only visible if something other than just Attack for Infobox Monster, for the tricky situations where you have NPCs that are attackable. I would agree. ɳex undique 14:54, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Support 1 - I love this idea and I really think a page for each option should exist if it already doesn't. Like Talk to or Swap (like leprechauns do) so people could know what those mean. If not pages, some mouseover. Maximus Gugu of ArmadylQuick chat button.png: Your Friendly Neighborhood Artist. 22:54, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, that would be very helpful for new players. But I'm not sure if it's best to have all options on one page and just describe them there, or give them separate pages. ɳex undique 14:54, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Support 1 - Seems like a good idea. One thing to consider is items that change the action when put on the action bar and when equipped. Robert571 (talk) 22:57, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Support 1 - No reason we shouldn't be doing this. Given these values are present in the cache, they should be pretty easy to add. Lava hawk.png BlackHawk (Talk)    18:24, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Support 1 - For items though we would have to decide how to handle inventory vs equipped. And if we want to add anything for the few items that have options when in the bank interface (eg fill on a number of bag type items). Seers headband 2 chathead.png Elessar2 (talk) 18:59, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, along with what Robert said, there's sometimes a lot of different click options for items. They also have different options on the ground. I definitely think we should have these documented, but I'm not sure how to do it in a smooth way. I don't want to make the infobox too long. ɳex undique 14:54, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
