Fortunate components are rare materials used in the Invention skill. Level 54 Invention is required to discover them at an Inventor's workbench and use them in a gizmo; however, this level is not required to obtain them.

These components are also used to recharge the passage of the abyss, providing 500 teleport charges per component.

Assuming median Grand Exchange prices, making an alchemical onyx values each fortunate component at 1,574,296.52 coins. Making an alchemical hydrix values each fortunate component at 1,734,227.2 coins. Note this doesn't take into account the cost of the other components used.

Update history[edit | edit source]

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included—see here for how to help out!
  • patch 12 October 2020 (Update):
    • The luck message that appears when receiving a fortunate component from a reward casket will now appear for easy, medium and hard clue caskets.
  • update 19 August 2019 (Update):
    • Ingenuity of the humans (sigil) removed from the game with the removal of sigils. Replaced with the codex and ability of the same name. Fortunate components are no longer used to recharge this ability, as it no longer has an upkeep cost. To compensate for this, the codex now requires two alchemical onyxes to make instead of one.
