Forge phoenix

A forge phoenix is a common phenomenon that can appear with the Orthen furnace core equipped while firemaking at a bonfire or portable brazier, or while smithing. They are unique to the player; only the player receiving the forge phoenix event will be able to see it. It is possible for multiple forge phoenixes to be active at once. Forge phoenixes replace the normal fire spirit and divine fire spirits that would normally spawn while firemaking.

When a forge phoenix appears the player can click on it to collect it as an item. From there it can be clicked on again to collect rewards. However, the phoenixes will only last for a minute before disappearing, so players must pay attention in order to spot them. Gnomish firelighters can be struck to collect forge phoenixes automatically, and they will also be automatically collected while under the effect of a spirit attraction potion.

A crystal tinderbox gives quintuple the chance of spawning a forge phoenix while training Firemaking on bonfires while it's equipped in the weapon slot. The All Fired Up set, consisting of the flame gloves and ring of fire, has the same effect as the crystal tinderbox and can sometimes prevent the crystal tinderbox from degrading. If the Fairy Fire perk from Memorial to Guthix is enabled, a divine forge phoenix will spawn instead.

Smithing protean bars does not cause forge phoenixes to appear, but burning protean logs does.
