A fellstalk seed can be planted in a herb patch in order to grow grimy fellstalk. This requires a Farming level of 91, giving 225 experience for planting the seed and 315.6 experience per herb harvested.
A nearby gardener will not watch over your growing fellstalk.
Fellstalk seeds can be obtained as a reward from Evil trees, by pickpocketing Master Farmers, as a drop from various slayer monsters, and from Managing Miscellania. They are also part of the rare drop table.
When planting a fellstalk seed, it is recommended to use supercompost (or Fertile Soil spell) in order to maximise potential yield and to reduce the chances of the patch becoming diseased and dying.
The following table shows the profit yield for planting fellstalk seeds, assuming all the herbs and seeds are purchased/sold at the Grand Exchange for the guide price. If the herb dies, you will lose -240 coins (the cost of the seed), in addition to the cost of any compost you may have used on the patch.
Supercompost yields a minimum of 5 herbs.
