Energy-gathering scrimshaw detail.png

The energy-gathering scrimshaw is a scrimshaw that requires level 90 Fletching to create and 80 Divination to use. It is made on a player-owned port scrimshaw crafter with 2 ancient bones, provided the energy-gathering scrimshaw scroll has been purchased from Boni (who requires that you have 80 Divination and have upgraded your Ports workshop, in order to buy the scroll) on Waiko for 5,000 chimes and 5 taijitu.

The scrimshaw can be activated on and off for a total of 3 hours after which it degrades to dust.

When activated, it gives the player a 15% chance to double the divine energy received when gathering memories (this applies even if a memory is not obtained). The scrimshaw will last for three hours of activated use before degrading to dust. The scrimshaw will work on all normal divination wisps/springs, including elder, negative, positive, and ancestral wisps and springs, as well as memories collected inside the Hall of Memories and Divine-o-matic vacuum.

This scrimshaw is worth around 1,500 energy (at 99 Divination) if left constantly activated while training - 478,500 coins in incandescent energy. The duration (and thus the overall value) can be roughly doubled if deactivated when converting memories, as it has no effect then.

Update history[edit | edit source]

The update history project is a work-in-progress – not all updates to this topic may be covered below. See here for how to help out!

    • Reclaiming a fully charged non-superior scrimshaw from a gravestone will no longer cause it to vanish.
