Elder-dragons are an ancient mythological race believed to have dwelt on Gielinor before any other race.[1]

Their lifeforce is linked to the life of the world. It is written that, as long as Elder-dragons continue to live, the world shall not end.[2]

The Elder-dragon theory is not widely known, nor popular with sceptics, believing it to have been created to throw doubt on the idea of Gielinor being devoid of life before the gods first arrived.[3]

In reality, the Elder-dragons are merely the first dragons to have existed. The only known Elder-dragon is the Queen Black Dragon.[source needed]
