The Edgeville dungeon mine was a mine near the centre of the Edgeville Dungeon. The mine was removed with the release of the Mining and Smithing rework on 7 January 2019. It was sometimes called the Skeleton Mine by some because of the many Skeletons there. However, there were several other mines guarded by skeletons, such as the Southern wilderness mining site. The mine was rarely in use on any worlds, although sometimes a lone miner could be found using it for its coal supply.

It was a compact mine with a variety of ores. The resident skeletons and occasionally visiting Hobgoblin may have been dangerous for players with low combat levels.

The Edgeville dungeon mine was located within Edgeville Dungeon. The mine itself was north of the Hill giants and the ladder near the brass key. It was south of Vannaka and the shortcut to Varrock Sewers.

Travel[edit | edit source]

  • The short way: In a small room north of the Hill giants but south of the mine there is the Brass key spawn. This key could be used to enter and exit the Edgeville dungeon via the ladder just north of the Hill giants. This was by far the fastest walking route to and from the mine.
  • The long way: From the dungeon entrance at Edgeville, through the dungeon.
  • Nearest bank: Varrock west bank, with Brass key. However, if a player had Varrock armour 3, from completing the hard Varrock achievements, they could use the bank within the Cooks' Guild. This bank was closer than Varrock west bank.
  • Teleportation: Paddewwa Teleport, from the Ancient Magicks spellbook, teleported the user to the entrance of Edgeville dungeon. However, this was not recommended for long-term mining due to the cost of runes and the journey to the mine from the entrance of the dungeon.

Usage[edit | edit source]

This mine could be a very effective place to mine coal and iron, as a good alternative to more crowded places such as the West Lumbridge Swamp mine, the Dwarven Mines, or Mining Guild. Players could mine all of the coal, mine the iron, drop the iron, and continue mining coal. This method wasted no time at all and was relatively fast experience.

As with any coal mine, using a coal bag could help immensely. However, it was recommended to have a combat level of at least 65, so the Hobgoblins and Skeletons would not bother you.

There were also four bone respawns in the northeastern part of the mine, so it could also be used to train prayer simultaneously.
