Dungeoneering journal pages and books are monster drops found while exploring the Dungeoneering dungeons at Daemonheim. Journals that have been placed into your inventory are automatically stored, and can be accessed again by talking to the Dungeoneering tutor on the surface near the entrance (previously accessed through the Ring of kinship). Once a page is stored in this way, it is never received as a drop again. In order for the Journals to be stored, it has to be picked up (reading the journal is not necessary for it to be stored).

Documents detailing the journey of Fremennik warriors Marmaros and Thok into the depths of Daemonheim and a few miscellaneous notes are found as random drops of non-boss monsters in the dungeon. The rest are dropped by the exit ladder in the boss room after the boss of that floor is defeated. Stalker, Kal'Gerion, Behemoth and miscellaneous notes are only dropped by the bosses they describe. The pages of the Mysterious Chronicles are only dropped every two floors (e.g., page 1 is only dropped on floors 1 or 2, page 10 is only dropped on floor 19 or 20, and page 13 is only dropped on floor 25 or 26). If a journal is dropped, the whole team sees it. If one of the members has already unlocked one, there's a chance it will appear as a different journal for said member.

Journals can be obtained regardless of complexity level; as such rushing floors on complexity 1 is suggested when trying to obtain journal pages.

Marmaros and Thok letters have a 1/1,000 chance to drop for the whole Dungeoneering party from any monster in a dungeon at any complexity; the letters are restricted to specific floors.[1]

Miscellaneous journals 16-20 have a 1/10,000 to 1/50,000 chance to drop from any monster on the Warped floors at any complexity; if a journal is dropped it is for an individual, which may be any member of the Dungeoneering party regardless of who killed the monster.

Update history[edit | edit source]

The update history project is a work-in-progress – not all updates to this topic may be covered below. See here for how to help out!
  • patch 15 January 2018 (Update):
    • Players will no longer be kicked from a Dungeoneering floor when attempting to trade a Dungeoneering journal. However, Dungeoneering journals remain untradeable.
