The dragon staff is a fire staff that can be obtained by completing an elite clue scroll, trading with another player or buying it off the Grand Exchange. Equipping a dragon staff requires level 40 Magic, level 40 Attack, level 60 Prayer, and level 20 Defence. It provides the player with an unlimited amount of fire runes.

When the dragon staff is equipped with the dragon mask, an emote can be performed by right clicking the staff.

The staff has the head of a red dragon, although the type of dragon is not mentioned in the description or the examine text.

Its stats are equivalent to those of the mystic fire staff but with an additional bonus of 3 Prayer.
