A divine forge phoenix is a common phenomenon that can appear while Firemaking at a bonfire or portable brazier or while Smithing with the Orthen furnace core equipped and the Fairy Fire perk chosen at the Memorial to Guthix. They are unique to the player; only the player receiving the divine forge phoenix event will be able to see it. It is possible for multiple divine forge phoenixes to be active simultaneously. Forge phoenixes appear more frequently when a crystal tinderbox is equipped.

When a forge phoenix appears, the player can click on it or have the gnomish firelighter buff active to collect it as an item with the 'Divine Phoenix' modifier. They will also be automatically collected while under the effect of a spirit attraction potion. From there it can be clicked on to collect rewards. However, the phoenixes will only last for a minute before disappearing, so players must pay attention in order to spot them. Collecting a divine forge phoenix also awards Divination experience.

A crystal tinderbox gives quintuple the chance of spawning a forge phoenix while training Firemaking on bonfires while it's equipped in the weapon slot, and also provides a 10% chance for three forge phoenixes to appear at once. The All Fired Up set, consisting of the flame gloves and ring of fire, has the same effect as the crystal tinderbox and can sometimes prevent the crystal tinderbox from degrading.

Smithing protean bars does not cause divine forge phoenixes to appear.
