This article has a quick guide.
Quick guides provide a brief summary of the steps needed for completion.

The Desert achievements are a group of Area Tasks subcategories relating to the Kharidian Desert and its surrounding area. These subcategories are: Easy Desert, Medium Desert, Hard Desert, and Elite Desert.

The NPCs for the easy, medium, hard, and elite subcategories are indicated by a Task map icon.png icon on the minimap and the world map. These are Grand Vizier Hassan in the Al Kharid palace (after The Jack of Spades he can be found in the Merchant district in Menaphos), Zahur in Nardah, Hakeem the Mayor in Pollnivneach, and the clay golem in the ruins of Uzer, respectively.

The rewards for this set of subcategories include the Desert amulet and experience lamps giving a total of 190,000 experience in skills. A player must obtain each Desert amulet in chronological order (e.g. medium achievements must be completed before the reward for hard achievements is available).

If the amulet is lost, it can be retrieved from the NPC who gave the player the amulet; Grand Vizier Hassan for the Desert amulet 1, Zahur for the Desert amulet 2, Hakeem the Mayor for Desert amulet 3, and the clay golem for the Desert amulet 4.

This set of achievement subcategories is required for the Task Master achievement of the completionist cape.

Completing all achievements in this set of subcategories gives a total of 530 RuneScore.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Desert Tasks banner.jpg
  • The reward pendants colours align with the basic 4 gems:
    • Easy = blue (sapphire)
    • Medium = green (emerald)
    • Hard = red (ruby)
    • Elite = white (diamond)
  • The jingles are renditions of music tracks relating to the achievement area, as usual. The easy jingle is a rendition of Violinsanity, hard of Breaking In, and elite of Final Showdown.
  • If the player plants and grows a cactus plant and harvests it before the hard achievements are completed, they will get three spines from it as usual, but if the hard achievements are completed while the cactus is fully grown then it will start yielding double spines spontaneously, even after Ali says the double yield is due to it being protected by a local farmer during growth.
