Steps[edit | edit source]

Players may use the given map to navigate correctly to the pit. However the navigation portals are not 100% reliable unless players add a restored Chaos star to their toolbelt.
  • If you don't have one already in your toolbelt, restore a chaos star (obtained as reward from the Who Dis? special research or alternatively from the Shakroth remains which both require level 68 (boostable) Archaeology)
  • Using the portal map on the right to navigate the Infernal Source and with the chaos star either in backpack or tool belt, descend to the bottom of the pit (the hydra portal) by using the Dagon and chaos portals.
  • Talk to Dagon the Gatekeeper, who will give you a zodiac code.
  • There will be a puzzle based on the number each member of the Malebranche tells you during the Contract Claws mystery.
  • The 13 numbers you receive are 0, 4, 8, 4, 0, 0, 4, 4, 6, 0, 2, 4, 4 in order. These correlate to the number of limbs of the animal depicted on the Zodiac coins.
For example: there's a lion on the Leo coin so Leo equals to 4. The Capricorn depicts a sea-goat which makes it the number 2.
  • Solving the puzzle is done by pressing the signs of the Zodiac at the bottom of the pit (not the individual portals) in the following order:
    • Libra (0 limbs)
    • Virgo (4 limbs)
    • Scorpio (8 limbs)
    • Aquarius (4 limbs)
    • Libra (0 limbs)
    • Pisces (0 limbs)
    • Virgo (4 limbs)
    • Aries (4 limbs)
    • Sagittarius (6 limbs)
    • Pisces (0 limbs)
    • Capricorn (2 limbs)
    • Aquarius (4 limbs)
    • Aquarius (4 limbs)
  • After solving the puzzle, the mystery is completed and you receive pact with Dagon.

Additional rewards/activities[edit | edit source]

After completion, Dagon the Gatekeeper will also ask the player to bring him two restored hellfire katars, requiring level 98 Archaeology. Doing so awards the player with The Rings of Razulei.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The player Sliske was the first player who completed this mystery on 31 March 2020 which was shown in-game with the announcement: Game announcement.png News: Sliske is the first to solve the 'Dagon Bye' mystery!
  • The name of this mystery is a pun on Dagon'hai. It also refers to the demon Dagon, who is freed during the mystery. He can now leave so that the player might say "bye" to him. It could also be construed as a pun on "Day Gone By" which would be tribute to song and film alike.
