A crystal acorn is used to grow a crystal tree in Prifddinas, just south-east of the lodestone. After planting it, the crystal tree will grow instantly. One crystal tree blossom can be harvested from the tree per day, starting the day after it has been planted. Two blossoms will be received if the Tirannwn quiver 4 is equipped, but this will not double the amount of experience earned from harvesting. It is not possible to boost the Farming skill to or past level 94 to plant this seed, nor can it be assisted.

A crystal acorn is rewarded upon talking to Challenge Mistress Heriau in the building of the Max Guild for the first time. For other sources, see drop sources below.

• A crystal acorn can be found in Evil Dave's Bank during Evil Dave's Big Day Out. If the player attempts to plant it in a crystal tree patch, the acorn disappears and the message "Nice try." is displayed in the chat box.
