Chinchompa (player-owned farm)
Chinchompas are livestock that can be raised and bred at the player-owned farm once unlocked at level 54 Farming, as well as level 20 in Construction in order to build the small pens. Their baby form can be found while hunting the relevant type of chinchompa or skillchompa. However, they cannot be obtained when using protean traps. Chinchompas can be placed in the two small pens (capacity of six animals each) and in the breeding pen (capacity of four animals).
Chinchompas of different breeds can reproduce, but the children will not be a different breed from either parent (unless it is born shiny, in which case it is golden).
In total there are 8 different breeds including the shiny Golden chinchompa. Being the highest level animals that can be placed in the small pen they award both the highest amount of experience and beans when harvested or sold.
Like all farm animals, they may have up to three traits, which determine their selling price in beans to non-player characters, among other effects, and can be sold on the Grand Exchange in their unchecked form. Once they have been checked, however, they may only be traded directly between players or sold to Mieliki Tapio, the chinchompa collector. Twelve can be sold each day.
They are the only animal on the farm to consume all types of food, which must be feed in its mushy form. Any type of food placed in a pen with chinchompas will automatically be converted to this mush. The cheapest food to feed them is Woad leaf obtainable in unlimited quantities from Wyson the gardener in Falador Park.
Chinchompas with the Nuclear or Unstable trait have a chance of exploding when the player gathers the produce. This is useful for unlocking the Tickety Boom! achievement. However, the chinichompa will be lost this way, so players who wish to keep it should consider using an animal trait re-roller.
Perks[edit | edit source]
Like all animals on the player-owned farm, chinchompas have a unique perk that is activated by having an elder chinchompa inside a pen that has a farm totem placed on it. Their perk, "If Chins Could Skill" grants the player a 3% chance to not lose a skillchompa while using them. This can be further increased to 5% if two small pens have active totems and an elder.
Chinchompa breeds[edit | edit source]
There are eight types of chinchompas available in the breeding log.
