Casket (hard) can no longer be obtained in RuneScape after an update but still exists in-game for those who had done so.
This article is about the old version of the hard reward caskets. For the current iteration that exists in game now, see Reward casket (hard).
Casket (hard) detail.png

A Casket (hard) was the item received when completing the final clue scroll of a hard clue scroll trail prior to the Clue Scroll Overhaul on 26 February 2018. It contained the reward for the hard trails prior to this date. The item was effectively replaced by the Reward casket (hard) with the overhaul. However, Casket (hard) items in the game at the time of the update were not automatically converted to the new item and therefore may remain in the game. Players may now convert the casket into a Reward casket (hard); it is no longer possible to loot the Casket (hard) directly.

The casket could be received from Treasure Trail NPCs, such as Uri, or by digging at a map spot or after completing a coordinate clue.

Unlike the current Reward casket (hard), the Casket (hard) item was not stackable. Players at the time were only allowed to have one hard clue scroll at a time and the casket counted toward this, thus players could not have more than one casket at a time.

There could be up to six rewards at a time in the casket when opened.
