Page Cache[edit source]

There should probably be a refresh cache button for each bar section -- 21:23, June 17, 2017 (UTC)

Smithing rework[edit source]

I'm not familiar with the naming conventions, so I don't know why the GE data is stored at Module:Exchange/Bronze_sq_shield instead of Module:Exchange/Bronze_square_shield, where the data exists and has the same name as on the GE. Similarly, I don't know why Module:Exchange/Iron_med_helm doesn't exist. These were working before my edit for "+ 1" spacing, but I didn't change these names. Edit: these items were already broken due to name changes. Kalia (talk) 03:52, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

Request feature: Add Cumulative Bars for upgraded items[edit source]

Wiki mods or anyone who is tech savvy, please add a column with cumulative bars to smith upgraded items from scratch (items with the plus affixes: +1, +2, +3, +4, +5 etc). I wanted to smith some but I'm reluctant. Actually how do you find the formula for profits anyway? PS. sorry, im not good at maths and im not good with computers, most of my info below was gathered 'school project style' by looking at the elder rune equipment pages on this website.

cumulative amount of bars needed to smith/upgrade from scratch

helm, base: 2 helm +1: 4 helm +2: 8 helm +3: 16 helm +4: 32 helm +5: 64

body, base: 5 body +1: 10 body +2: 20 body +3: 40 body +4: 80 body +5: 160

legs, base: 3 legs +1: 6 legs +2: 12 legs +3: 24 legs +4: 48 legs +5: 96

gauntlets, base: 1 gauntlets +1: 2 gauntlets +2: 4 gauntlets +3: 8 gauntlets +4: 16 gauntlets +5: 32

boots, base: 1 boots +1: 2 boots +2: 4 boots +3: 8 boots +4: 16 boots +5: 32 07:26, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Just to add to this request, the profits seem to be calculated based solely on the bars used to make that item, disregarding the cost of the previous item, or the cost of the bars to make the previous item(s). This makes the calculator wildly inaccurate for anything higher than the base item. For consistency, I think it would be better to make them all reflect "from scratch" smithing and use the total number of bars to make from scratch rather than the bars needed to upgrade from the previous tier, perhaps with a column for gp/total progress, so time efficiency can be considered as well.

That said, a calculator that can show the profitability of upgrading an item from tier X to tier Y could also prove useful, but it would be both ambitious to create, and may make this page too cluttered.

Unfortunately, I have 0 experience with lua, and am not comfortable tackling these updates myself, but if I'm understanding correctly, the only change that *should* need to be made to switch to cumulative bars would be to update Module:Smithing_profit_calculator/Data, though that seems like a tedious manual effort for something that should be calculable based on the item name.
