A botanist's amulet is made by enchanting a jade amulet with the Lvl-2 Enchant spell. While the amulet is worn, there is approximately a 5% chance to brew a 4-dose potion instead of a 3-dose potion while training Herblore. It starts with 5 charges, and one charge is used when a 4-dose potion is created. Each charge costs 2,102.2 coins. It is expected to last during the mixing of 100 potions on average.

Each of the five charges is effectively equivalent to one free dose. The amulet can be used in conjunction with other mixing bonuses to further reduce costs. This includes the free dose bonuses given by wearing three pieces of the factory outfit and/or the Morytania legs 4 (for prayer renewals), as well as the double potion chance from a modified botanist's mask and/or portable well. If the amulet activates while a portable well or modified botanist's mask grants an additional potion, two 4-dose potions will be produced.

When brewing overloads, the botanist amulet saves 35,773 coins each time it activates, for an overall saving 168,355 coins per amulet. Given the 5% activation chance, players can expect to consume a full amulet in 100 potions - making 305 doses of overload from 300 doses-worth of supplies. This reduces the average cost of a 3-dose overload from 143,093 coins to 141,409.45 coins.
