Blood locks are found in Castle Drakan, and are used in the quest The Lord of Vampyrium. The first eight named blood locks are used to escape Lord Drakan's cells in his castle after the Myreque are captured. The three unnamed locks are used shortly afterwards while barricading the windows in the castle while the Myreque ascends the castle.

Blood locks while escaping the cells[edit | edit source]

With help from the book that Ivan Strom gives the player, A Taste of Hope, each member of the Myreque needs to be matched up to a corresponding blood lock, based on the emotional state of the member.[1] The Myreque members can be assigned to each lock by investigating the blood locks.

The correct matches are:

  • Ghrazi - Veliaf
  • Alzeph - Radigad
  • Pyrah - Kael
  • Myrmel - Mekritus
  • Vitur - Polmafi
  • Shadum - Vertida
  • Jovkai - Safalaan
  • Drakan - Ivan

Blood locks while barricading windows[edit | edit source]

After barricading a number of windows with furniture debris, the player will have to use three blood locks to open the nearby tithe doors in order to barricade all of the windows so that venator vampyre guards cannot get in.[2]

Each of these tithing machines requires blood flavoured by a certain emotional state, related to the original vampyric tribes as depicted on each lock. That tasting notes book should suggest to you which lock should received[sic] which blood. It's up to you to figure out which of you emotionally stunted Myreque is best suited to each lock."

    • Player: It won't budge.
    • Polmafi Ferdygris: My guess is this works like the one in the cellar. Someone will have to stick their hand into that blood lock.
    • Player: And by 'someone' I'm guessing that means me.
