Blightreaver is a two-handed melee override that could be obtained by handing in or using a combined total of 7,500 Skill Off tokens during the Summer Skill Off in 2019. According to Morn, this sword "feeds off the blood of its enemies."

It can be purchased for 10,000 Chill Off tokens by talking to Norm during the Winter Chill Off event in 2020.

If the normal version is owned, an empowered version can be unlocked by either killing 10,000 monsters while using the normal version or participating in the Demon Souls activity during the Winter Chill Off event (using the override is not necessary). The following messages are displayed:

  • You hear a strange whisper.
  • Once again you hear a strange whisper.
  • Your sword feels heavier.
  • A voice whispers 'Feed me more.'
  • A voice whispers 'My hunger is almost sated'
  • You feel the sword move in your hand almost as if it has a mind of its own.
  • The hilt of the sword is exuding an intense heat.

Once unlocked, the following message will be received:

  • You have unlocked Blightreaver (Empowered) override. You can find it in the wardrobe interface.
  • What have you done?

The first three messages appear quite close to each other, and there are larger gaps between third and fourth and fourth and fifth messages. The last messages appear very close to each other.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

Concept art for a soul weapon for Invention
  • Blightreaver bears a resemblance to Soul Edge from the Soulcalibur franchise. The fact that it seems to make you desire it, like how Morn says, "It wants you to have it," then later seems possessed into looking back at Blightreaver to say, "It's so sharp..., So powerful..., Let him in," while Randall the NPC that has Blightreaver, says, "I hear voices in my head," seems to confirm this.
    • It may also be a reference to the Soul Eater Weapon from early Invention concept art and ideas.
