Beacon ring detail.png

A beacon ring is a ring used in What Lies Below. It is obtained from Zaff and is used to summon him during the quest. When a player uses the ring within Varrock to summon him, he appears in a series of purple rings within a few squares of the player, with the same visual effect with Aubury's rune essence mine teleport or curse.

After the quest, the ring can still be used for the small magic and defence bonuses.

Players can regain this ring for free from Zaff if they lose it, therefore a player needing bank space can destroy it and regain it again later from Zaff.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • After the quest What Lies Below the summon option remains but you cannot summon Zaff. Instead in the chatbox text is displayed saying, "Zaff has removed the summon charges from the ring. It will not summon him again."
  • The beacon ring is one of the few rings in the game that produces a special effect or sound when equipped; the ring produces a chime on equipping.
