Bakriminel bolts 5 detail.png

Bakriminel bolts are bolts fletched from the Bloodwood tree and tipped with bolt tips bought from Mami Rimba. The Bakriminel bolts have a Ranged requirement of 80, as with royal bolts and onyx bolts (e), yet they have a lower damage stat of 720. They can be fired with any crossbow, but due to its Ranged requirement, only the chaotic crossbow, royal crossbow, and other higher-level crossbows can use them at full strength.

Fletching these bolts requires 93 Fletching (it is assistable and boostable) and must be done near the tree – attempting to take the logs or shafts away from the tree causes them to disintegrate. Attaching the bolt tips to the bolt shafts gives 13 Fletching experience per bolt. Unlike metallic bolts, bakriminel bolts do not need any feathers.

Fletching Bakriminel bolts from scratch inside the wilderness will complete the Smooth Bakriminel achievement.

Bakriminel bolts can be retrieved by Ava's devices. Using a Blightbound crossbow or its off-hand variant allows for a 25% chance to save a bolt when fired which stacks together for a 50% chance when both are used together.

As of an update on 22 January 2018, gem bolt tips can be added to bakriminel bolts to turn them into gem-tipped bakriminel bolts. Unenchanted gem-tipped bakriminel bolts are tier 85 with a damage stat of 816 and require level 90 Ranged in order to be used. Enchanted bakriminel bolts are tier 99 with a damage stat of 912 and require level 99 Ranged. Enchanting gem-tipped bakriminel bolts requires the same runes as their metallic counterparts, with the addition of a blood rune.

Since the current strongest bolt-firing weapons are tier 92 (eldritch crossbow and blightbound crossbows), the bolts themselves are effectively capped at a damage stat of 883. Whenever the effects of an enchanted bakriminel bolt goes off, the bolt is always consumed, unless the player is using blightbound crossbows, which still retains the same save rate as stated above.

Special effect[edit | edit source]

When used in PvP situations, bakriminel bolts are able to target specific parts of the enemy and have special effects depending on the body part aimed at. This can be changed any time by right-clicking on the bolts and selecting "Focus". When triggered, a special effect will be seen along with a chat message.

These special effects come into effect only if the targeted player has either no equipment or magic armour on the particular part of the body being targeted, or if a magic main hand or off-hand weapon is wielded.

The effect only applies to regular bakriminel bolts, as both standard and enchanted gem-tipped bakriminel bolts lose these effects (enchanted gem-tipped bakriminel bolts have the same effects as their metallic counterparts).

Body Part Effect Chance Message displayed
Head Chance to slow their magic casting for the next 30 seconds. Additional specials while the initial special is still in effect will drain the opponent's magic accuracy proportionally to the hit of the special. Further specials will not stack but overwrite if the hit of any consecutive specials were greater than the previous. 1 in 3. The bakriminel bolt weakens your enemy's mystical prowess, reducing their casting speed.
Torso Chance to cause a bleeding effect, dealing 1% of the target's max life points per second for 60 seconds. Additional specials while the initial special is still in effect will add more damage per second to the initial amount, increasing to 1.2%, 1.5%, 1.7% and finally 2% of max life points per hit. Additional specials will not renew the special duration of 60 seconds. 1 in 4. The bakriminel bolt viciously wounds your opponent.
Legs Chance of draining your opponent's run energy equal to 5% of the damage hit by the special. If the special effect happens when the attack drains all of the opponent's remaining run energy or if it hits when the opponent has no run energy then it will bind your opponent for 10 seconds. 1 in 3. The bakriminel bolt drains your enemy's energy.

Tipped Bolts Special effect[edit | edit source]

When bakriminel bolts have been tipped and enchanted with various gems, they gain a special effect.

Tipped Bolts Effects
Bolt Type Passive Effect
Opal bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Lucky Lightning effect, which deals 10% more damage to the target
Sapphire bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Clear Mind effect, which steals 5% of the player's maximum prayer points from the target
Jade bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Earth's Fury effect, which stuns the target for 4.8 seconds. In PvP, the bolts will bind instead
Pearl bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Sea Curse effect, which deals 15% more damage to enemies weak to water, but 15% less on enemies weak to fire
Emerald bakriminel bolts (e) 55% chance of triggering the Magical Poison effect. Upon activation the target is damaged an additional 2-4% weapon damage in the form of a single poison type hit and does not override the players weapon poison. This effect scales with poison modifiers such as Cinderbane gloves or kwuarm incense sticks.
Red topaz bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Down to Earth effect, which reduces the targets magic level by 2 and damage by 1%. This effect caps at 10 levels and 5% damage. The magic damage debuff lasts for 2 minutes, subsequent activations will add new stacks but not refresh existing ones.
Ruby bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Blood Forfeit effect, which hits the target for up to 20% of their remaining life points, while dealing the player 10% of their own life points as recoil. In player killing situations, the damage is capped at 3,000; against monsters, it is capped at at 10,000 for regular hits. Critical hits are capped at 12,000 (15,000 with Erethdor's grimoire). For monsters with over 1,000,000 life points remaining, the chance of triggering is lowered by 1% for every 1,000,000
Diamond bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Armour Piercing effect, which deals up to 15% more damage to the target with perfect accuracy
Dragonstone bakriminel bolts (e) 5% chance of triggering the Dragon's Breath effect, which hit the target a second time for 25% of your current attack as dragonfire
Onyx bakriminel bolts (e) 10% chance of triggering the Life Leech effect, which deals 25% more damage to the targets and heals the player for 25% of the damage potential of the attack, capping at 2,500 life points. The amount healed is calculated before the damage buff occurs and is based on the original damage potential of the attack
Hydrix bakriminel bolts (e) 10% chance of triggering the Deathmark effect, which instantly grants the player 10% adrenaline and additional 1% from basic abilities for 15 seconds. Subsequent activations while under the effect of Deathmark will refresh the effect
