Backhand is a basic Attack ability. It has no Attack level requirement. Backhand stuns the target, dealing 20-100% ability damage. This ability shares its cooldown with Kick, Impact, Shock, Binding Shot, and Demoralise.
Backhand is identical to Kick, except that Kick will move small targets back a square as well. Backhand benefits from the flanking perk, while Kick does not. As such, there is no reason to use Kick over Backhand, unless one wants to move the target which is useful in conjunction with Slaughter.
The stun from backhand is not long enough to gain the effect from Slice or Punish, as the stun only lasts for 1.2 seconds and abilities may only be activated every 1.8 seconds.
The threshold version of this ability is Forceful Backhand.
If the player wears a Daemonheim aura 3 and uses Backhand, rather than hitting the target with a hand, they will instead headbutt the target.
