Augmented crystal hatchet detail.png

The augmented crystal hatchet is a level 70 Melee main hand weapon and tool that is created by using an augmentor on a crystal hatchet, or by trading in an Augmented dragon hatchet from the inventory, and 4,000 harmonic dust to Lady Ithell, in the Ithell Clan district of Prifddinas

Although it is both a weapon and a tool, only tool gizmos can be added to the hatchet. Attempting to add a weapon gizmo will give you the message "You can only use that gizmo on augmented weapons".

To remove the crystal hatchet from the tool belt and augment it, first research augmented hatchet at level 22 Invention, and then speak with Doc in the Invention Guild with an augmentor in the inventory (click through Doc's tutorials first if you haven't already). This can only be done once.

Once the hatchet has been augmented it cannot be added onto a tool belt. To add an augmented hatchet onto a tool belt, use an augmentation dissolver to return the hatchet to its non-augmented form. Use an equipment siphon or crystal tool siphon first to get the experience stored in the item. A crystal hatchet will be replaced by a rune hatchet on the tool belt. If it was augmented from the toolbelt by Doc and is later de-augmented, the hatchet will automatically return itself to the toolbelt.

The augmented crystal hatchet can be changed between combat and non-combat equipment; changing the type to non-combat removes all the combat stats from the hatchet and makes it impossible to attack anything while the hatchet is equipped and will no longer allow using the Bladed Dive ability.

The Augmented crystal hatchet uses charges stored in the universal charge pack. When the charge pack runs out of charges, the item loses stats and gizmo effects, and can also no longer gain any equipment experience. Function will resume when the pack is recharged with divine charges.

The charged augmented crystal hatchet has a special attack, Clobber, which requires 100% adrenaline and lowers your opponent's Defence and Magic by 10% while dealing 25%-150% damage.
