An Armadyl rune is a type of rune released with the grandmaster quest, Ritual of the Mahjarrat. It is unlocked by completing the quest, requires Runecrafting level 72, and gives the player 10 experience. This amount cannot be increased with air runecrafting gloves.
The rune is used to cast the spell Storm of Armadyl.
It is crafted on the air altar from pure essence and dust of Armadyl (which is made from grinding Armadyl shards, dropped only by glacors). The number of runes per essence is the same as for an air rune, meaning that a minimum of 7 per essence are made due to the level requirement. The rune also resembles an air rune, albeit green.
Runecrafting value analysis[edit | edit source]
- For more information about Runecrafting multiples, see crafting multiple runes.
The value per dust depends on how many runes the player is able to craft per dust of Armadyl based on their Runecrafting level. The minimum level to craft these is 72, so the minimum runes possible per dust is 7; The maximum at 99 Runecrafting is 10. The Grand Exchange market values per shard if made into runes are as follows:
|Runecrafting Level||Runes made per
Dust of Armadyl
|Value of armadyl runes||Profit|
|72 - 76||7||4,746||1,042|
|77 - 87||8||5,424||1,720|
|88 - 98||9||6,102||2,398|
Note: All prices are based on the current Grand Exchange market prices.

Price history[edit | edit source]
Prior to the Evolution of Combat, the price of Armadyl runes fluctuated between approximately 1,200 and 2,700 due to the previous damage potential of this spell. However, since the Evolution of Combat, the spell has paled in comparison to many of the higher level spells, which has led to the recent decline in price, now at 678. Because of the now lower price of Armadyl runes, they are far less frequently crafted due to the reduced profit potential. Thus, Armadyl shards are more profitable if turned into an Armadyl battlestaff instead.

- patch 3 March 2014 (Update):

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- There was originally a bug that allowed players to craft Armadyl runes if they had the dust, pure essence, and required Runecrafting level regardless of whether they had finished Ritual of the Mahjarrat.
