- His name and two others in the pub is a reference to the Irish sitcom Father Ted. The name Ardal is a reference to the actor Ardal O'Hanlon who played Father Dougal McGuire in the series. The other two are named Frank and Dermot, after Frank Kelly and Dermot Morgan, both actors in the series.
