Ancient vis is an Archaeological material that can be obtained through excavating material caches or various excavation sites, requiring level 25 Archaeology, at various dig sites around RuneScape.

Ancient vis is required to restore various artefacts. As players increase their Archaeology level and use higher tier mattocks, they are able to excavate ancient vis at quicker rates.

Ancient vis, like other Archaeology materials, can be stored in the material storage container. An unlimited amount of ancient vis can be stored in the material storage container.

20 Ancient Vis is required in order to activate the 2nd Orthen teleportation device at the Observation outpost on the north side of Anachronia.
