An ancient casket is obtained by excavating at the location pointed at by a powered tetracompass.

Rewards[edit | edit source]

Upon opening an ancient casket, a player can expect to receive an assortment of rewards pertaining to Archaeology and Treasure Trails. The casket is destroyed in the process.

Each casket makes several rolls for various drops:

  • 3-5 damaged artefacts, regardless of the player's Archaeology level.
  • 4-6 rolls on the materials drop table, regardless of the player's Archaeology level.
  • 2-4 of the Archaeology supplies (excluding the mattock and tomes)
  • 1-2 complete tomes
  • Guaranteed elite or master clue scroll roll
  • 1 of the following:
    • 2-4 pages from the Treasure Trails rewards
    • 1 of the other Treasure Trails rewards (excluding clues)
    • 1 of the rewards (or reward set) from the Miscellaneous rewards
    • Dragon mattock (1% chance)

In order to open an ancient casket, the player must also have a combined total of 25 spaces free in their inventory or bank.

If the player's inventory or bank is too full to hold all of the rewards, the remaining items can be later reclaimed from the ancient casket located next to the research desk on the upper floor of the archaeology guild.
