A Guild of Our Own (miniquest) is the third and final caper Guildmaster Darren Lightfinger will assign a player who has completed the Buyers and Cellars quest and the previous two capers, From Tiny Acorns (miniquest) and Lost Her Marbles (miniquest).

Speak to Darren Lightfinger to start the caper. He wants to register the Thieves' Guild with the Guild Registry to make the guild become legitimate, but due to the large fees, asks the player to break in to the Registry and steal their funds in order to pay the registration fees.

Speak to Chief Thief Robin about a disguise. He will teach you how to make the vial of stench to tear up whoever is standing close by, making it impossible to recognise the player. Combine chopped onions with the irit potion (unf) to make a vial of stench. Use the vial on Chief Thief Robin to activate it, turning it into a vial of stench (a).

Before moving on, make sure to purchase a lockpick and a blackjack from Dodgy Derek if you haven't already got the items.

Guild Registry[edit | edit source]

Find your way to east Ardougne. The Guild Registry is located in the south eastern section of the town; enter through the door with the vial of stench (a) in your inventory and the blackjack equipped. Pickpocket the Registrar to obtain a Cuckoo clock key to the cuckoo clock in the neighbouring room.

The next bit is time-gated and needs to be completed quickly.

  • Click on the ornate cuckoo clock to wind it up.
  • Return to the main room with the guard. You must stand next to the counter, not by the doorway to the cuckoo clock room. The registrar will notice the unusual sounds from the clock and move into the next room to investigate.
  • As soon as the Registrar is in the cuckoo clock room:
    • lure the guard;
    • knock out the guard with your wielded blackjack; and
    • steal from the Guard to obtain the vault key.
  • Pull the lever on the wall behind the main desk to open the trap door.
  • Climb down the trapdoor in the southwest corner to enter the vault room.

If the Registrar returns to the main room before you enter the basement you will have to repeat the entire process. It may take a few tries to succeed.

Vault room[edit | edit source]

As you enter the vault room, you can hear the Registrar ask the guard what happened. She will lock you into the vault to "stew for a while".

Pick the lock on the gates to enter the area with a large chest. This may take a few attempts. Make sure to right-click check on the registry strongbox to look for traps. Opening it straight away will trigger some falling rocks, taking damage up to 3300 lifepoints. Open the strongbox to obtain the bonds. To exit the vault, inspect the smallest box outside the vault area.

Bank the vial of stench (a) and proceed to re-enter the Guild Registry. Speak to the Registrar to complete the Thieves' Guild registration, and return to Lumbridge. Speak to Darren Lightfinger to complete the miniquest.

  • patch 5 October 2020 (Update):
    • The guard is no longer able to block the registrar from returning to the entry room in 'A Guild of Our Own'.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • If you talk to the guard before winding the cuckoo clock, he will say that the stench is vile. This is a play on vile being a homophone of vial, which in turn references the vial of stench.
  • Completing this caper is a requirement for the Completionist Cape, as a piece of music cannot be unlocked without it.
  • It is impossible to enter the Guild Registry after stealing the bank notes, as the player doesn't want to "tempt fate by going in there."
